Another simple game

I put some more effort into the game I mentioned in last post.

This version is a bit more interesting and difficult.

I got score 101 with 9 kills after which 4 enemy ships finally got me. My guns jammed.

Fixed input bug. Alternative input is not I, J, K, L, and Q for those poor souls who use Windows and the Shift key can't be pressed too often.

Hmm. When you get over 1000 points it starts to lag a bit :-)

The trick seems to be to hide in the corners 'cause the enemy ships can't shoot you there.

Also funny is that with over 1100 score there are so many enemy ships on the screen that it takes several game loops before the bullets you shoot actually appear. At this time I have a limit of 50 objects at any given time including ships, bullets and explosions.

Any new objects are pushed into a waiting line until there is a free slot to put them in.

This probably means that when the enemy ships produce more bullets per frame than there will ever be free slots the game will crawl down to a halt and crash or something.

Yeay.

At the time of this writing I have 1154 score and a 10 second delay before the bullets I fire appear.

Practicing my doodling skills again. I think I'm getting better att drawing using the mouse. Still hope they get support back for my media tablet in the next Linux distro generation, though.
