Bug fixes to Nailblog

2008-09-18 22:01 by Nailbar
Added a patch with some bug fixes to the Nailblog. Head over to [Programs] to get your copy. No security update, though.

And of course I pooped the patch and left an error in mod_blog.php, which disabled blog file administration. Now it's fixed, so I'll present to you; Nailblog version 0.6.4.

That was fast

And now for some bug fixes feature corrections. There are plenty more coming, but let me present to you version 0.6.2.

I've also remodded the [Programs] page and added the Nailblog platform for downloading.

Some minor things I'll need to write down so I still remember them next time I'm feeling creative; More things I'd like to add to this blog:

  • Fix comment form width
  • Some kind of log list so I know when someone has commented
  • A cancel button for the comment form

Done...

the Nailbox Blog edition rev. 6

2008-09-17 20:21 by Nailbar
Well... Now it's official. The Nailblog revision 6 is now done and passed beta. Any bugs will now be called "features", and I'll fix them as they come along.

FireworksThere are some small things I'd still like to add, but since switching to Nailblog rev. 6 was such a tedious act, I just wanted to get it out there so I can focus on the little things again.

I think I'll change the revision numbering into version numbering. Easier that way. The only reason I used rev. this and that was because it sounded cooler. I think I'll start calling revision 6 version 0.6 and then add minor version numbers for every bug fix. So this is now 0.6.0, but after I actually make the change, it'll be 0.6.1. Enjoy!

So. What's next? Features! Here's a small list with features I'm thinking of adding later on:

  • RSS support
  • Image viewers
  • Map support (maybe)
  • Blog and file backups

Oh! And new features in this version:

  • Multi user support
  • Modular design (so now, If I want to add RSS support, I'll just add that as a module)
  • File type security (means a user can't upload a php script or stuff like that)

Then I added some awesome looking fireworks for celebration. Go get the sparkling stuff; POP! sshhhhh...

Nailblog in beta

2008-09-16 10:46 by Nailbar
In other news today, Nailbox Blog edition (Nailblog), revision 6, is now in beta stage. All the functionality is there, but there are some security features still missing. For the guest user, nothing will change, but this new version, with its modular design, will pave the way for more functionality in the future.

Some things I'm looking forward to are RSS feeds, and the possibility to link to a single post.

There were ninjas

I'll return later with pictures and an explanation. All I can tell you now is that black t-shirts + flashlights + night fall + swords + forest = ninja. Enjoy the new link:

Told you there'd be ninjas. It took some time, but the new [NinjaNight] gallery is now up and running...

Ooh, new stuff on the way!

2008-09-11 09:07 by Nailbar
I'm working on revision 6 of the Nailbox, Blog edition. Actually, I'm now calling this "platform" the Nailblog.

There won't be many new features for the usual visitor, most of the work is done under the hood. I'm making the entire thing modular; There'll be one module for login handling, one for the blogs, one for the file browser, etc. Also, the new version will support multiple users. Maybe then, I'll release the code for anyone to download. We'll see.
