Nailblog

This is the program this website is based on. If you do try it out, please send me some feedback!

[Documentation]
Installation instructions and user manual can be found here.

Currently I'm working on version 2.0, but that's still in beta so stick to 1.2 until it's done. The 1.2 version is separated in three categories; Core installation files, templates and modules. The core installation files is what you need to install a working Nailblog on your server. I'm keeping that file rather small and there is no graphical content in there.

New releases are posted in chronological order with download links and patches.

Nailblog-1.2.7

2009-03-10 13:47 by Nailbar
Full installation: [nailblog-1.2.7.tar.gz]
1.2.6 - 1.2.7 patch: [nailblog-1.2.7-patch.tar.gz]

Bug fixes:

  • Removed the "0 comments" from RSS module.
  • Replaced a "<nailblog version>" with "<nailblog>version</nailblog>" in the default value for $titlecont.
  • Moved the user module related nailblog tags to mod_user.php.

New stuff:

  • Modules can now provide their own nailblog tags by adding a value to the array $nailblog_modtags.
  • Added automatic focus to the login form on the login page.
  • Added automatic focus to the entry form when creating a new entry.
  • Added automatic focus to the comment form when adding a comment.
  • Added automatic focus to the entry content when editing an entry.
  • You can now order the mod_counter lists by "popular first", and "latest first".
  • You can now set whether a specific user agent in mod_counter is a bot or not.
  • Added a Nailblog tag <nailblog>mod_counter</nailblog> which outputs the total number of visitors excluding marked bots.
  • Added array toinit to nailblog.js. Modules can add function references to that array if they want some JavaScript function to be called by body.onload. This only works if the template includes onload="init()" in the body tag.

Todo still:

  • Blog combination pages should be added to the quick links list.
  • Choise per user how many entries per blog page (goes for RSS feed too)

Template: Paper

2009-03-06 09:39 by Nailbar
[nailblog-1.2.6-template-paper.tar.gz]

This is a template for Nailblog-1.2.6 I made just for fun. It doesn't support output to $leftdata, $rightdata or $bottomdata, but it looks nice and hand-made.

nailblog_paper.jpg  Enjoy!

Flash video and WYSIWYG modules

2009-03-03 14:18 by Nailbar
[nailblog-1.2.6-module-flowplayer.tar.gz]

Updated the flowplayer module to check if other flash video player modules are activated and complain if so.

[nailblog-1.2.6-module-tinymce.tar.gz]

Updated the tinymce module to check if other WYSIWYG editor modules are activated and complain if so.

These updates prevent potential conflicts which would otherwise cause the admin page not to show.

Nailblog-1.2.6

2009-03-03 14:01 by Nailbar
Full installation: [nailblog-1.2.6.tar.gz]
1.2.5 - 1.2.6 patch: [nailblog-1.2.6-patch.tar.gz]

With this update you get:

Bug fixes:

  • Changed the default balue for $headdata to use <nailblog>version</nailblog> instead of the old <nailblog version>.
  • You will no longer be bounced back to page one of a blog after doing something to an entry on another page.
  • URL's with the letter "v" in them are now allowed (this was an interesting one which only bugged on some systems).

New features:

  • It is now possible to raise and duplicate menu entries in the sidemenu module.
  • Every module now checks if there are other modules already in use doing the same thing, and exits with a warning message to prevent conflicts.

Todo still:

  • "0 comments" should not be visible for blog combinations in mod_rss.
  • Add more features to mod_counter; select which browsers should be counted as "visitors" and produce a visits-number described with "<nailblog>mod_counter</nailblog>", or something similar.
  • Choise per blog whether comments are to be displayed.
  • Choise per user how many entries per blog page (goes for RSS feed too)
  • Automatic redirects ($act=old => $act=new).
  • Search function for the blogs.

Nailblog-1.2.5

2009-02-27 10:58 by Nailbar
Full installation: [nailblog-1.2.5.tar.gz]
1.2.4 - 1.2.5 patch: [nailblog-1.2.5-patch.tar.gz]

With this update you get:

  • Blog combination functionality; you can make a page which shows the latest entries from a selected number of blogs.
  • Added blog combination support to the RSS module.
  • Number of comments per entriy are now shown in the titles in RSS feeds.
  • Small improvement of the upload tool in the file manager; you don't have to manually scroll down to the tool in order to upload a second file.

2009-02-27 10:59 by Nailbar
Todo:

  • Oops! Add the function sidemenu_raise() to mod_sidemenu.php.
  • Remove "\v" from the URL checker in mod_menu.php; on some versions of PHP you can't create links with a "V" in the URL because of this.
  • Update the default global.txt to use <nailblog>version</nailblog> instead of <nailblog version>.
  • Get back to the correct blog page after editing or viewing a single entry.
  • Check for duplicates for all modules and output warning if there is.
    Like:

    if(isset($mod_blog)) alertmsg("System error! (multiple blog modules activated, skipping <i>mod_superblog</i>");
    else{
    And the module stuff goes here
    }
